I purchased some Rage broadheads last week, but they just don't seem very sharp. I am used to the muzzys or the stingers that are like razor blades.

Are Rages sharp enough out of the package or should I sharpen them?

I thought that mine felt sharp out of the box. I used to hunt with muzzys and my rages felt just as sharp. If you can get them sharper, I would go for it. Can't hurt.

Don't agree with the Slick Trick part but agree with tossing them. Think they are junk!

The whole concept on how rages work is based on having dull blades. If anything I would shoot them into a target a few times to dull them but be careful, these heads are a one time use.

Did you buy the cheap imitation Rages? If they were really cheap you might of. With that said, I too would never hunbt with Rage anyway. Shot 2 deer with them. First one great. The second looked like a wrinkled beer can. Exodus, Tru-Fire T-1 or Hellrazor for me.

I would throw them in the trash and go back to the Muzzy's. You cant beat a proven winner.

Personally I don't know if they're sharp enough...perhaps having a dull jagged rage will assist in the tearing of organs when they don't get full penetration  I'm a slick trick or fixed head kinda guy personally...just stirring the pot.

I always touch mine up a little bit, but I dont think it is necessary just more confident with a sharper broadhead!

I can honestly say I must be one of the lucky ones because Rage broadheads have worked great for me, I see no change in my near future. Gd Luck!!

I have used Rage broadheads since they hit the market and they have always been sharp out of the pack. I have always bought mine from either BPS or D--ks Sporting Goods. They have always worked well for me.

I've shot more deer with a Rage than any other broadhead. I've always got pass-throughs, but always poor blood. Only one deer I have shot with them has gone over 40 yards and he was a 130", so that can be somewhat expected. But I have also noticed that their blades aren't as sharp as some others on the market.

i've had no problems with rages.

but for the record, my favorite broadhead of all time are my slick tricks (compounds).

Rages are crap in my opinion i would get some g5 t3s or nap killzones both are very sharp no stupid rubber bands and both have awesome penetration and leave wide exit wonds with great blood trails i favor g5 there smaller head and so strong i got a complete shoulder pass thru on a doe ay 22 yards with one plus i like on the g5 how i can put more or less tension on the blades so i can tune them to open when i want.

Made the switch to Slick Trick Magnums this year - Can't beat an extra sharp fixed head.

Rages get an unnecessarily bad rap online from hunters because their over zealous advertisements rub guys the wrong way.... They are not junk, and they do work amazingly well on deer sized critters. I have pictures of blowing through the shoulder bone cutting it in half with a rage 2 blade on a 200 lb blacktail buck.

I've killed several deer with rages and likely will again in the future. that said, I switched to ST Magnums this year too. Chasing much larger critters this fall and want one head for all purposes instead of switching around in my setup.

Are Rages the best head ever? No. Are they near as junkie as 90% of the guys online make them out to be? No.

I have killed deer with rages. When comparing them to other broadheads (all that I have shot) concerning quality and durability I think they lose. I wouldn't call them junk, maybe just inferior.
