Just got my bow and this is what it looked like After moving the rest and loop I got it a little more square Is this correct or should I have left it alone
Comparing the arrow to the riser shelf means nothing. You need to "square" your arrow to the string. A arrow square is inexpensive, $10 or less. Most bows shoot best with the arrow nock 1/8-1/4" higher than "square" ie 90 degrees to the string. For now you can take a piece of paper, put it along the string to see how the arrow looks. I hope this helps.
If your not familiar with bow set up and tuning it's nothing to be ashamed of. There is a lot more to setting up a bow then your average person would think. How is your center shot? In the ball park?
Not sure on the center shot haven't got a chance to shoot yet. My new problem is the dloop keeps shrinking when i pull back and pinching the nocks
your local pro shop should have a tool to help with that. also, you can serve the bottom of d-loop. this helps with pushing the arrow down a tad on the shelf (makes more sense in target shooting i was told).
Well I don't want to serve it in before I get it tuned. But I can't tune it if the dloop keeps shrinking
I just recently put on a new set of strings and cables for the first time and got a lot of help from Youtube and from this forum. Luckily my rest was in place so all I had to do was set it to berger holes and square up to the string.
No, yours just isnt tight enough. A string loop (if tied properly) will never twist, slide, or otherwise move.
