One my buddies have been talking about goin somewhere for a hog hunt for awhile and he finally found a place to go. Neither one of us have hunted hogs before and actually this will be my first hunting trip and I've been debating on trying it with the bow or not. This being my first time thought about taking bow and rifle but don't know. Probably just thinking to much into it but figured I'd see what other opinions are out there.

If do take my bow is there anything I'd haveta change up from the hunting setup have for whitetail compared to hogs. Again I'm probably just a over thinking stuff but like said with this being first trip like to be prepared.

I would only shoot fixed blades. And google the anatomy of a hog. different shot placement than deer.

Agreed! Although I have shot plenty of hogs with mechanicals, I would suggest fixed blades, and if you want to shoot it with a gun, shoot it with a gun. Anybody can shoot a hog with a bow too. Shoot what you feel most comfortable with. Good luck and post some pics when you get done.

If your going to take your rifle don't take your bow. You'll never use it. IMO

It depends on what you want out of the hunt in my opinion. Is your main priority to harvest an animal and fill the freezer? Or is it to enjoy the challenge and process of the hunt as well as the uncertainty of success? Everybody hunts for different reasons so just evaluate what you want out of it and have fun no matter what you decide!

Personally....I'd take the bow 10 times out of 10.

Killed a bunch of hogs with the same hunting set up with my bow as I would hunt whitetail. Bow only for me all about shot placement.

Got a nice hog years ago with a 50 lb recurve a 320 grain arrow and broadhead combination. Grim Reaper 1 3/8 razor cut.
No pictures of the hog as I didn't have a cell phone back then. LOL
Did get this guy which is arguably tougher, with a 1 3/8 Grim Reaper out of a compound. He made it about 40 yards. wart hog.jpg
