The batteries in my 2012 Black 60 Covert finally died. I run it with all 12 AA batteries. They lasted from the day I first put it out, August 18, 2012 until Feb. 5, 2014. A full year and a half through almost 2 full winters. This winter has been colder than normal as well. To say the least, I'm impressed as hell. No longer thinking about lithiums just going to change batteries in the Coverts once a year.... probably August. Not sure how many pics it took on 1 set of batteries but I'm guessing at least 30,000. Is there a way to see how many pics it took by looking on the menu? (maybe I need to bring my readers with me when I swap cards). I do like these Coverts
That's great battery life. I didn't understand, were you using lithiums or alkalines? Blessings..........Pastorjim
I've had similar results with my Coverts. Some last longer then others. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Same experience here so far with both MPe5 and my Red40. Very impressed. Sent from Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
I'm using alkalines, duracell copper tops. All I meant was that I didn't think lithiums were necessary when a set of alkalines will last over a year.
same thing with my 2012black 60. figured i better change the batteries around christmas, to my surprise they still showed 8 on the meter... PLain jane rayovacs since July.. And it got bitterly cold up here... I been in the trail cam game since 2006 and I was blown away.
And I thought I had good battery life with my M-80XDs. Over a year battery life using alkaline batteries is the best I have heard of. You guys are going to make me try a Covert if you continue to speak so highly of them. The one thing that keeps me from buying a Covert is the flash range. Do they have a camera that has a range of 100 Ft?
That is amazing. Whenever I used alkaline in the cold here they froze up and quit working. I am talking temps below zero. dbl lung, try a flash extender on cams. They can be bought at places that sell homebrew cam supplies.
