The first bow I shot and hunted with was an old Bear crossbow that was my Dad's. The first bow I bought for myself was a High Country.
I started with a 35lb bear recurve back when I was 4 or 5. I couldnt even get it off the ground but my dad and his buddies let me shoot it in the back yard with them, Eventually I got to where I could draw it back more than a few inches and learned to shoot with it. I got my first real hunting bow when I was 8. It was a Bear and Jennings Black Lighting. Dad made me shoot it for a year before he let me start hunting with it. That little bow was a killer and I still have it.
a elder from my church gave me his old bow when he got a new one it was a browning from the early 90s when i was 14. saw three does the first time he took me out. as a young teen didnt have the patience to sit still. now 10 years later i shoot my frist doe at 20 yards. perfect heart shoot she ran 30 yards and front flip over dead. and now im hook for life. just got a left over spyder 30. and my old bow is my bowfishing bow

I have a Ben Pearson Cougar I believe I got from a buddy when we were teenagers. But back to the topic ... My first bow was a Bear Whitetail II . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mine was a carved dried chinaberry limb with a home made string. I used dog fennel stems to make arrows and they actually shot pretty good. First compound was a used Ben Pearson with a 40 lb. draw. Killed a few hogs with it before getting a Whitetail II.
