Ever find something like this in a deer you killed?

This is from a buck Todd shot a few years back during rifle season.

Deer are impressive animals. Hopefully a deflection and not a purposeful head shot. It only takes a few to ruin our reputation as hunters.

NO... I never found anything like that and I hope I never do. I did find shot pellets in the hip of a buck once though.

It's unbelievable how deer survive some of the wounds they recieve from hunters.

That's pretty wicked. Here is an elk a buddy of mine shot in Idaho, it was healed over so it's assumed it was sustained the previous year. Didn't show any effects from the injury. (I took the pics with a cell phone so sorry for the poor quality)

That's some impressive stuff! Deer and elk both are some really tough animals. I've found .22 bullets in deer before, as well as one in a turkey, but never anything like a broadhead or tine in the skull.

I've found broadheads in the body cavity but never in the skull. Unbelievable.

I have one that was shot in the head with buckshot. There are indents in the antlers and holes through the skull. Deer still lived till I got him though.

That is what I hate about mechanical heads. Sorry, I joking and could not resist.

Way back I BC when all that was used were wood shafts we would find heads in deer a lot. Crooked arrows and poor shot made for some problems. I have never found one in the location shown though.

A few years ago while working we checked some young hunters that had been tracking a deer but could not find it. They told me they always shoot for the head. I gave them a little education but not sure it helped.

I have seen 3 broadheads stuck in a deer. All were fixed head Muzzys....I would say mechanicals are just fine if the person shooting them has a capable setup to do so. However that's a whole new topic.

I've never seen one in the skull. We have pulled them out of 2 shoulders and a spine. It's incredible what they can survive through.

Hey guys, lighten up. I was making a joke. Isn't there always argument trying to destroy mechs? Just a damn joke. I know this was a fixed blade. Try to think for a change!

    ......Think?...I just didn't get it....but whatever....

Never found anything odd in a deer but I shot one with a rifle once that ran about 50 yards and dropped and I never could find a bullet hole? I was aiming for the vitals too...
