I like to use trail cameras to monitor the bucks and see when they have shed. In my opinion, food sources, bedding areas, and south facing hillsides are the three best places to look although I've found sheds on trails and fence crossings too. Hope that helps a little! Good luck!
Lots of walking. Just get your mind ready to only look for sheds and active deer sign. Walk deer trails and open fields.
^^Yep, they can fall off or be knocked off anywhere deer go. It's literally a bunch of walking until you find them.
Some shed early and some hold on until late February. I shot a buck here in Massachusetts on December 5th that had already dropped his antlers.
I got one the week before Christmas that had already dropped. Thought it was a doe. I always think I will go to my hunting land and get some other things done and then go look for sheds but I think you have to dedicate a day to looking for sheds and that's it.
