You know it's cold when the local news station has alerts on: "262 closing alerts and 10 weather alerts."

Minneapolis school district has closed schools for Tuesday as well...

Take me somewhere sunny and 75... Or at least sunny and 25 so we can at least ice fish!!

I saw where someone put boiling water in a squirt gun on a -45 degree day. When he sprayed it, it looked like he was shooting a flame thrower.

It is snowing a lot here in PA today. Temps are dropping rapidly and are expected to be around -30.

The thing about it is we live in a cold weather climate. Everyone here owns cold weather clothing, so you just dress for it if you go outside. It really isn't as big a deal as people think. If it's -30 out, then dress for -30. If you don't then you get cold and frostbitten, but I guarantee that you only make that mistake once.

I think they make some kind of electrical heating tape you wrap around the water pipes underneath your trailer. You should get some for next time.

    :sheep:
Meanwhile, put on some nice, warm, wool clothes

I went to college in Bottineau, North Dakota. We had days and days of -30 (actual temp) and lower. At least one day was -45 with a -110F windchill. (60+ mph wind) I think they've since changed how they calculate windchill, so nowadays that's probably only -100 below. :)

-30 tomorrow here. Like has been said. Ya just dress for it and deal with it. Only pain in the arse is layering up when you have to be outside and getting undressed when you get inside. Can be dangerous to exposed skin though in short amount of time. Frost bite aint no joke! Can be a problem for vehicles and water lines too. Had a 4 inch drain line freeze solid along an exterior wall that runs to the bathroom the other day. That was a shi@#$ situation.

They got a new windchill formula in 2001. I think it makes about a 20 degrees difference.
