So I changed releases from a trigger style to a thumb style. I'M having issues with the fact my facial anchor is now non existant. Should I go to a kisser? Otherwise I'm going to have to shorten my draw length to get my knuckles to the corner of my mouth. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I switch back and forth between a hand held thumb release and wrist strap trigger, I don't change my draw length. You need to re adjust you hand position but your anchor point remains the same. Imagine you can hold a bow that fully draw without using your release hand....picture it anchored, level again your face, your eye lines up with the peep sight...Now just substitute the releases. Your as anchor point remains the same, your hand position changes. Your elbow and forearm stay at the same angle. Hope this helps.

Your hand shouldnt be your anchor, so with proper form it wouldnt make a difference. Your string should cross the corner of your mouth and the tip of your nose. Your hand against your cheek or shortening your draw to use your knuckle is a very bad idea. Put gloves on during a hunt and that wouldnt work too well.... Your string should always touch your face in the same spot. You will just have to get used to not feeling your hand against your jaw/neck or whatever you felt before. I made the same transition a couple weeks ago and it was a breeze. Im shooting better now than before... But good form is a must
Use your jaw line for your knuckles with the hand held. There is a difference for me but I typically have to go longer with draw length about a 1/4" . Typically I just adjust the d-loop to get my anchor and rear elbow and back tension correct. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
I'll have to do that, its going to involve me moving my sight a little. My facial point before was the knuckle of my trigger finger tucked underneath where my ear meets my face. I was shooting roughly an inch per ten yards out to 60 with that set up. Then my scott release exploded mid draw. So a friend of mine gave me a tru-ball 4 finger thumb release. My reference points aren't the same, my hand is closer to my face now which means im hitting off to the right, the release is longer, putting me almost behind my ear... Its just completely screwed up my fung shui.... This is my first day, first couple shots on it thought, I'm sure i'll get it figured out. I'm just frustrated that its like im a damn newbie shooter all over again. lol
I shoot a stan shootoff and place my pointer finger knuckle under my jaw and my middle finger on too of my jaw bone. Kinda straddles it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds like a tru ball chappy boss. They have a long head which does require some draw length and d-loop adjustments to get your overall draw length correct. I have one and don't care for it. I much prefer my carter fits me too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
This might help. If your back further than this, try shortening the loop. I know this release is much shorter. Notice the long loop. If that won't get you where you need to be, you may have to go a little shorter on draw length and work the d- loop from there. You may also have to adjust your hand up or down slightly and then move peep. You NEVER want your hand completely off your face. There needs to be a contact point for reference. Scott has a lifetime warranty on all their releases. Send it in they will fix or replace your broken one

I dont think you need a receipt, i would give scott a call and ask them. They make great products and have great service. They willget it taken care of. What exactly happened when it broke? What came apart?
On the scott wolverine theres a set screw on the barrel of the release that allows you to change the length of the barrel. That set screw broke off and sent the head of the release flying towards the target and over my fence into the neighbors yard.. Haven't been able to find it.
No way I am changing shooting style mid season when I am shooting accurately. I would get another release just like my other one.
