Look where the raccoons are in relation to his movements? Maybe he can keep a better eye on them when putting his head closer to the ground. Everyone knows those raccoons are not to be trusted. Or maybe he's just tired of standing all day.
He is eating,...I got a lazy azz chocolate lab that does that all the time,...lol either that or his front legs are too long,...lol
use to have a doe years ago do this by me. i always thought she had a shorter neck then the other deer. she either did what that buck is doing or spread her front legs wide to get her head low enough to eat.
Thanks guys. He's a regular and he eats that way about half the time....coons around or not Must just be easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Might have a neck injury and can't bend his neck down to the ground. Neck angle appears to be almost the same in every pic. Probably he only way he can get that low.
My guess is that eating corn directly off the ground gets tiresome for some deer, although they do eat acorns seasonally in some areas. Generally deer eat stuff that grows up to them a little bit or that they can reach from their standing position (leaves, crops, early growth wheat). Just a guess though. Since he's not talking we'll all be guessing :D
Very true. Necks position/angle is near identical in every pic. He may not be able to bend his neck from an injury Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
