What to do in the "Off" season

I try to shoot some 3D and when I'm not, I practice in the back yard 3-5 days a week. Keeps my shooting up to par. I really try to stay involved in archery period during on and off season.

I really start my scouting after closing weekend of season. Then start putting out minerals, some habitat improvement and any other things I can do to improve my chances. Then I try to pick up other spots to hunt. If I can, I buy gear. Then come June I set stands. After that I stay the heck out of the woods. When season comes I make adjustments based on deer sightings and try to kill. It's a revolving cycle.

Fish...golf...work. Going to run a trapline of cameras also!

 

I prepare my land - plant small food plots, refill corn feeder, refresh mineral sites, cut firewood and then I also camp, fish, etc.

 

I'm going to put in a small food plot this year. And do some more scouting.

 

I icefish in the winter, I fly r/c helicopters in the spring. I start walleye fishing in the summer. I never stop shooting my bow. I always scout for new stand spots while at camp during summer fishing trips.

Hiking, kayaking, camping, concerts, festivals, etc... I've seen over 100 Phish shows and 50+ shows of several other bands, so that takes up a lot of my time and resourses outside of bow season. I'll usually spend 1 weekend each month scouting, working on food plots, etc.

 

Going to "hopefully" get the 4X4 back on the road. She is old and needs some major TLC.

 

I am in college so that takes up the majority of my time but i usually shoot my bow and fish when that season rolls around. I also get to go to Fl quite often and fish over there too.
