I've been bowhunting for about 10 years now, however this is the first year I've started using my grunt call and bleat call actively. I've gotten some animals to react and some that don't respond at all. I know there are rut stages where deer will respond more actively then other times. Any tips on when and how to use calls for the best results?
    thanks

The only time I use a grunt call is to stop a deer for my shot. I have no luck blind calling deer in.

I like to use a grunt tube starting the last week of October. I've always had good success with tending grunts during this week. When November hits I will use my bleat can too.

I've had good luck getting a buck to stop and come in 50-60 yds with the grunt and snort wheeze in early November, but any time I blind call I fear I've either scared deer or given away my position.

Not to hijack the thread, but is there any point in the season where you quite calling all together?

Not for me. I've had decent luck with late season calling.
