if you want a challenging hunt, I'd go towards duck. A fun day of shooting would be dove or pheasant. Depending on your location of course.

Goose because it is never easy.

If you want easy and probably the most fun shooting you'll ever have, pigeon hands down.

    Pheasants are great!
Quail would be my second pick.
One of my favorites is chuckar partridge even though they are released birds, they are fast and sporty and some of the best table fare you can find.

Duck hunting is okay, I'm not that keen on the cold water scene but it is fun.

Dove is fun but they are small little snots and I prefer larger game.
    Geese...meh
    Never shot a grouse...

I love pheasant hunting as well as waterfowl. Both have their pros and cons. But i have had some of my best memories with buddies doing both:o

Turkey and Pheasant are definantly on the top of the list, I agree. Next would have to come doves, grouse, then waterfowl.

Pheasant are down in our state by 40% or better this year and 60% from the year before that. I'd rather be sitting in a duck blind or goose pit right now then walking miles for a few thunder chickens. I will let them rebound over the next couple years (I hope) and then go after them again. Goose and duck hunting are good times if you have the right setup. Nice to be able to sit with your buddies, chit chat, stay warm, eat, and kill ducks and geese all at the same time. :tu:

I dont think it gets any better than busting late season roosters out of the cattails.

Duck/Goose is the only one I've done and that's only recently in the last year or so. But, I absolutely love it! Grouse etc, all are on my list...I can see that being some good times.

I'm excited to be heading back to IL for a week and a half over Christmas. My gf and I adopted a German Wirehair about 4 months ago and I can't wait to see how he does. Her dad has 3 German Wirehairs so it'll be cool to see them all working together. He's shown good potential. Here he is pointing out a squirrel in the park haha.
