Albino Deer

Y`all don`t kill me, but this doe was shot this morning (with a rifle). Pretty cool... and rare

 

Interesting... Always wondered whether to shoot or not to shoot if an Albino came up on me.

 

Pretty cool. Has a hint of brown in her hair too. Hope the hide was kept.

 

I would shoot one to get the hide done. Cant afford a full blown mount but the hide would be worth keeping for sure.

Pretty cool, would definitely make a nice wall hanger for the hide. Guessing you would call that a white deer rather than albino or piebald? Has a tinge of brown throughout the coat and doesn't have the pink eyes of a true albino.

 

Thats awesome. I saw a albino squirrel while hunting this past week but not as cool as a albino deer.

 

Saw an albino fawn last year, really cool to see. Tennessee says it's illegal to kill an albino.

Dont ask me why, but the guy who shoot it didn't keep the hide! I told him the same thing. He just kinda treated it like every other doe. To each his own I guess. Now that yall mention it, it didn't have the eyes like an albino. The was actually a variation in color from the top half to the under belly. It was a very cool deer for sure

 

Looks like she was a tiny little thing....I'm more put off by that than the fact she was white...

Piebald... not albino but very cool. I had a friend who killed a solid white 8 point several years ago. It is full body mounted at Ken's Taxidermy in Autaugaville Al.

I've never thought I could loose an arrow on a white deer (or a bullet) but a full mount trophy class buck would just be breath taking.

There used to be (back in the late 80's) a white buck about thirty miles east of me in the river bottoms that several people including my dad, would see from time to time. He was rumored to have had a spread of around 20" and 16 points. I never was fortunate enough to see him but locals named him "Ghost". I never heard of anyone killing him but they may have and just kept it quiet.

Ever since that melanistic buck was posted here on the forums some time back, I've had a new goal in deer hunting. I never knew black deer existed until then. I'd have a nice melanistic buck done in a full mount if I ever got one, or maybe a half mount jumping out of a wall.

 

I passed on an albino doe one year in archery. A friend shot it in muzzleloader season so it's not like I saved it, I just didn't feel like shooting it. What is weird is my brother-in-law shot an albino doe that same year in rifle about 40 miles from my encounter. I haven't seen one again but did see a pie bald last year right down the road from my house.

 

I had a piebald doe here at home for a year and passed on her during rifle season. She was beautiful and big...she was mostly white with bround sides, resulting in basically a white stripe up her back and her belly wit ha traditionally brown head and shoulders. I thought I was going crazy the first morning I saw her in the timber. She just disappeared, don't know if yotes got her or a neighbor or she just died or moved on but she was a cool looking deer.

Never seen one before or since here.

 

We had a couple piebalds and a couple full albinos around here. I haven't seen or head of any around this area for prolly a good 15 years now. Neat lookin things. In NY u cant shoot an albino, but the piebalds are fair game.
