Are you guys in the northeast still seeing any rutting activity? I have been at it for the last 4 days and I saw buck Thursday afternoon but its gone desert since! I am sure the full moon has them moving late but wondering if the peak of the rut is tapered off?
Saw two decent bucks saturday morning. Had a picture of a mature 8 last wednesday at 11:45 am. Theyre still hitting the scrapes good here. Havnt seen any chasing but then again i rarely see chasing here.
I have seen one decent buck since the rut has really kicked in and that was Thursday I had him at 20 yards chasing a doe but could not see my sight too dark! Since then nothing!! I won't be back in the tree til Wednesday so I will see what happens then!
I shot a big-bodied 8 pointer on november 10th, he was cruising. Since then, I havent seen too much rutting action, very little chasing, but as of friday, some of the bowhunters in my area have started to drop some monsters. It's very hard for me to determine if the rut has come and gone, already here, or is about to blow wide open. Everything I've seen and heard has been too sporadic. I'm hoping this week is the magic week.
Hunted every day this past week in NY except sat and Sunday, which I hunted northwest CT.... I seen zero rutting activity in both places. Not even small bucks chasing, no mid day cursing by mature bucks. Does still grouped together with fawns....worst rut I experienced ever.
Same type of activity in Albany NY area ...... i have seen one chase and very little daytime buck activity on cam.
Its been a weird season everywhere I`ve been. I shot a buck Friday (40 min from Albany) He was locked down with a doe. Other than that, I haven't seen much rut activity.
Same here, Just south of Albany....I almost think we missed it. Or we missed the little that there was to see.
Yea I don't think there was much to see. I spend 2 weeks out in ohio, and it wasn't even half as intense as it usually is. Seems like a weird year all around.
same here was in ohio from nov 3rd to the 10th....seen bucks everyday but no shooters, smaller bucks pushing some does around but that was it.
I have some cruising and a little bit of rutting activity by my spot. I have some pics of bucks following at a distance and some cruising but other then that nothing. I think it will be great this coming weekend especially the cold snap that supposed to be coming.
I was just starting to see lots of fresh scrapes and deer moving again during daylight last Thursday. Our season ended Saturday of course.
just checked one of my trail cams. I had a bunch of middle of the night activity from the 5+ year old bucks, 4 nights this past week, when normally it would be once every three weeks.
all I've seen is little bucks chasing and I'm on 15+ does every night... was thinking i missed it and getting all depressed.. I hope this week something happens. glad to see it's not just me though lol
I'm in South jersey also in Gloucester county and the ruts just weird this year. im seeing activity but not like previous years. I could shoot a million doe but there not what I'm after. I must let 10 mature does walk by me and there's never any bucks near? I JUST DONT GET IT!?!?
