I'm new to hunting so this may be a dumb question but does anyone ever camp out in their blind so that they could be in place come sun up?

I've been tempted to stay in a shooting house or two over the years, but like Heckler I think I would scare off most everything with my snoring. I don't know of anyone who has, but I'm sure it's been done.

I have thought about it, but have never actually done it. I don't really see what the problem would be, as long as you can get up without man alarm going off.

I've passed out in mine a few times, but not ever on purpose. My neighbor camps in his quite often, but it's just an excuse to get away from the wife and get drunk lol.

I have woke up at home a couple times at like 3:00 am during spring turkey season and just went ahead and went back to my blind. I just took a blanket. Laid it out inside, laid down and waited for the gobbles to wake me. Works great actually. Pretty sure for deer I would oversleep.

It's crossed my mind a time or two. Especially if you have a long walk out to your truck and/or drive home. When I'm doin all day sits in the late season when it's cold I'll sit in my stand @ sun up/down but during the day will sit in my blind with the mr. Heater!

Nope, but I know someone who has. They had a large shooting house with real windows and everything, and just camped out overnight with a small heater. It woulda basically been like stayin in a teeny tiny cabin! On stilts! I wouldn't say roughing it by any means...

My only concern would be the stink we build up overnight …. i like to take a shower before i head out.

If i can smell myself i bet the deer can smell me too

Would love to but, there are way to many yotes where I hunt. I have a pop up I haven't used yet that's pretty big. And I have one
I built out of old pallets, trees and a tarp that I was in early am and had a yotes come up to me and was smelling me through the walls. I was on defcon 5. Scared the hell out of me. So when I'm in early now I'm up a tree. Haaaa

We had every intention of sleeping in our blind Friday night for the rifle opener, but since I shot my buck on Friday, we were just to busy to get it done. My blind a little excessive though.
