All set and waiting. Had what sounded like a couple does walk by literally like 5 mins after I got set. Either they smelled me or my estrus drag and wick and blew. Haha. Come on daylight.:D

I'll be hitting hard tomorrow for pretty much my last chance until the orange hits the woods in ohio. I have a super busy school and work schedule up it's the opener of shotgun. This year has been a awesome year for my brothers with seven deer harvested. Now it's gonna be my turn to get into the action.

At about 0710hrs I had a fork horn come to within 10 yards behind me. He stayed behind the pines that I'm up against and then turned and went out around never offering a shot. He was small but I'm not gonna be picky at this point. Need more meat for the freezer. Haha

I'm on a 3 day break. I'm going back in on tuesday, thrursday and next saturday all day. My buddy just shot a 140 inch 10 pointer a few towns over so that has brought my buck fever to a whole new octane. I'm really trying to fill that last buck tag for my mom's friend, whos husband (fellow bowhunter) has cancer and hasnt been able to make it out into the woods this year. If I can fill that tag, I'm going to give their family all the meat.

In the tree since 5:30, not a deer in sight.
I wish someone would tell them that the rut is here!

Seen a little Y buck but that's it. Would love to see a doe step out today. Surprisingly I've only heard two rifle shots today.

Well, I drilled another doe today, that was much needed.
Big buck sightings have been non- existent.
It's been a strange and very slow season, they're kickin my butt!
I'm hittin it hard, hoping to connect soon!

Congrats on the doe Fred! We're getting schooled pretty bad over here on the east too. Still only small bucks running around once in a while, no big buck sightings at all. A couple guys from my area dropped some mature, 130"+ bucks last friday, thats about it though. I'll be heading out all day today. We'll see how it goes.

Congrats Fred. I need another deer for the freezer real soon. I'm almost out of veni from the doe I got earlier this season. I'm definitely not gonna be picky and take whatever deer presents a good shot first. One thing I like about RI is the amount of tags you can get. I can take up to 8 deer if possible. 3 bucks and 5 does. That many tag possibilities and an almost empty freezer is depressing. Haha

Nice work on the doe. Just remember, it only takes 10 seconds for your entire season to change for the good! Mine was going just as slow until..... Keep at it boys!

Exactly. If it was easy, everyone would do it. Just keep grinding away. I don't have much time left but I'm gonna work it as hard as I can. I have a shoulder that is absolutely killing me right now. I've had both of them scoped in the past for bicep tears and it looks like I need to have one looked at again. Of course I am stubborn and will not consider it till after the season. lol.

Keep grinding away boys. As for me, I think that if I dont see any good movement by sunset on saturday, I'm calling it a season. The orange army hits the woods tomorrow, and as I have experienced in the past, deer movement slows down dramatically once the guns enter the woods. As slow as it has been, I dont see how it could get any slower. I've already accomplished more than I set out for this season, three bow harvest which included my first buck with a bow, and a freezer filled to the brim. If I dont get another buck this season, thats fine with me, I'm incredibly happy with what I accomplished.
