So Obama is going to exempt people w. plans that were going to be cancelled because their plans did not meet the minimums of the ACA, for one year. Can someone please explain to me what this will solve? In 12 months time, these people will be in the exact same situation they are in today, only the premiums will probably be higher then due to the additional provisions that are scheduled to go into effect next year. If I were one of these insurance companies, I'm pretty sure that I would not re-offer the policy to the policy holder because if I don't they will be forced to either go without or buy a more expensive policy. This would just mean a higher profit margin. The republicans wanted to scrap the whole thing, and that would have been the best decision because this is a steaming pile of crap. Then they wanted to postpone the launch because they knew it wasn't ready to be implemented but the democrats adamantly refused, and the melt down began. This is egg on your face for the whole democrat party, nothing about implementing this law has played out well, every time we turn around we are hearing about new and outrageous problems. Why would we expect things to get better, because this law was not well thought out, and flawed from the beginning.
He did it in hopes that 12 months would allow more people to sign up for his terrible program therefore offsetting the cost to the individual by spreading it out over a majority. Because enrollment to this point has been beyond laughable, and I'll pay the tax penalty ever year if I have to rather than sign up for socialist medicine and be part of the problem. The Democrats put all there eggs into the Obama basket on this one and well...it's a disaster. I'm not happy about it, I'm ticked. They didn't listen to common sense when they were TOLD it wouldn't work, it was too expensive, and that the federal gov had not place in the health care business. They didn't listen and pushed it through anyway. So now we are here. At the edge of a cliff I don't know if we can back away from fast enough. And all the conservatives can say is...told you so. Well...we should have done more and acted on this democracy of hypocrisy sooner. Currently it's a house fire you knew was going to happen, allowed it to happen, and then showed up after it was already half gone. But...But...the president said only half of my house would burn down and he'd rebuild it better...well...good luck putting it out now.
This is NOT about America or what is good for Americans. This has always been nothing more than one party forcing something on the other to demonstrate dominance. Now the crap already hitting the news about the next election still 3 years away proves that politicians couldn't give a crap less about their constituents but only about "winning". They all must have attending the Charlie Sheen School of Perception.
It's a feeble attempt to get it out of sight , out of mind for his buddies that backed it that are up in 2014. Came out earlier that like 17 of the ones up for reelection this year paid him a visit this week. All government ever does is kick it down the road, unless it gives them more power then its immediate.
Exactly right! Years from now, when everyone comes clean we will learn of the power pulling the strings. There are many forms of diversity: perhaps diversity of thought is the most overlooked amongst them. If you elect a man with narcissistic tendencies and no executive experience, it is little wonder that he selected advisors who think exactly like his does. Groupthink run amuck...politics trumps reason, and narcissistic tendencies leads to hubris. A train wreck in progress!
Gateway to single payer. You gotta wonder why they were so against opening the market across state lines like all other forms of insurance.
AND …. the early polls show Hillary with a large lead …… wouldn't you think the American people would wise up??
One of the WORST things about our governmental situation, isn't the government at all. It's that the voting population WILL continue to vote inept people into office (on both sides). Our government could raise the debt ceiling 10 more times in before the next election, and the public would STILL vote those people making that decision back into office. I have lost faith in the American people as much as I have the government itself. That's just how I feel.
