Great buck dan!!! That dude is a bruiser! Sorry, playing catch up on the thread it's been a Long couple of weeks at the hospital. Funny how it gets cold and everyone gets sick. Back at it tonight and there are scrapes everywhere!!! Hopefully I get to see a couple tonight!
We'll today was my last day of 6 straight days of hunting. No kills but 40+ hours in the stand was what the doctor ordered. Tomorrow the "orange army" invades so I am done for the season @ my "buck" spot. Have 3 more days @ my close spot then I go under the knife & I'm done bowhunting until next year. :-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck down south Jacob. I'll be heading to my dad's in Washington county tonight to hunt Sat and Sun. He has been getting some good bucks on camera and I hope to get one under my stand. Good luck to everyone out there.
Sounds like I'm not the only one having their current season ruined by doctors, anesthesia and surgeries. Still, only another couple of weeks before I get to spend four glorious days and nights in the woods. God, I can't wait.
Question for you gents. Does anyone use 125 grain broadheads? I was talking with a guy at work the other day and he also uses 3-blade Muzzys as I do; however, he swears by 125 grain while I use 100 grain. Any thoughts of which is better?
I just switched to 125 grain muzzys this year. Dont know if it was necessary but it cant hurt. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
100 grain are plenty for white tails. 125's aren't gonna hurt anything but they are overkill in my book. I killed my first few deer with 85 grain heads.
Correct. Only reason I went with 125 for the fact I wamted a heavy arrow because I want to hog hunt soon. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
The 125 will give you more penetration down range and would be better for larger game but I have always been more accurate with the 100 grain. Good luck to all that get to hunt today. Let's get some buck down posts going.
I hope those are the best four days of the year. I would be going nuts if I were you. Be patient and heal though. There is always next season.
Thanks for the input. I'm thinking I will give them a try when I head up north in a couple of weeks and shoot them to get a feel for them. Who knows, maybe I'll make the switch.
Hunted the past four days and saw 5 deer. Was with six other guys in camp and all had similar stories. I'm starting to believe in the rutting moon. Just hasn't seemed to kick in yet. Did have a good encounter with a definite shooter, but couldn't get him in range. Back to work for me in the morning. Weekends only from here. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
We'll in officially done for the season fellas. Sorry I couldn't contribute a nice buck to the scorecard. Have my surgery on Friday then a week of boredom @ home. Good luck everybody! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey fellas, got the number hit lister down. Long story and track job, pictures will be up later tonight!!
