Sat the last two nights but haven't seen much. Checked my camera and had this bad boy at 12:30am. I hope to see him in person soon. Also go this nice 8 I just think he is a little young, maybe next year. I know the pics are old but I forgot a card the first couple times I sat and don't have time in the middle of he day to check so I waited till I was hunting. Congrats to every team member that has taken a doe or buck, we need the points for sure.

hey guys. just an update. im havent been on here near as much as i should but this year has been pretty busy. I feel like an idiot because i shot a doe about 2 weeks ago and didnt take any pics. completely slipped my mind. it was late and i had an hour drive to the processor. ill be out there most of the weekend so I'll snag a redemption doe and hopefully one of the nice 8's i'm chasing on public land. How'd you guys do this weekend? I saw 7 deer on Friday evening, including 3 small bucks - zero with in bow range, zero qualified as shooters. Saw 1 deer both morning and afternoon sits on Saturday and then saw 3 deer including a small non shooter buck on Sunday mornin. Got some days off coming up and still am hopeful that I will be able to get a buck on the ground this year! Need a little luck on my side!
Didn't hit is as hard this weekend.. Saw 3 does on Saturday evening, and 1 doe on Sunday evening. Spent most of the weekend creating new mock scrapes and freshening up the others. It's about that time of the season where I will be hitting it extra hard, hoping to have a buck down. Good luck guys!
Good luck guys hopefully ill be able to hunt soon. Its driving me crazy. Been working like dogs to get the crops out and found 90% of my shooters dead from ehd so yeah that's sucking. Keep at it guys! Bummer to hear about the EHD, hopefully you'll find one running around that's in good shape. Just remember, it's still early-don't get too bent out of shape or feel pressured. Finally made it out again tonight. I was sitting in a blind in a fence row over looking a shelled corn field. I had a big 10pt at 18yds, but could not get a shot. It was kinda cool watching him, but sucked not being able to draw blood. Hopefully next time.
Well boys I just came home from 5 days of hunting. It was very slow and a lot of corn was still up. The last corn on the Bone Yard they started picking today just as I was done hunting. I passed on 3 bucks and did not get a shot at a doe. I saw only one road kill in the 186 mile drive home. With this info I do not think the rut is in chase mode in my area yet. I will be back out on Friday for 9 more days of hunting, we should be in the thick of the rut by then. Remember in Illinois more bucks are killed on Nov 9th than any other day!

Got pictures, lots of pictures. I have at least two definate shooters one I will give a year and probably 5 other bucks that need 2-3 years. No pics of the buck I have been hunting but 2 others to replace him. I named this buck public enemy #1 here is I believe a didfferent wide 8
