Things been quiet on this post! I'm sure it's just the calm before the storm! I'll be hunting in Minnesota in a couple weeks, looking to put a bruiser on the ground! Good luck fellas!

oooohhh weee! just pulled my sd card on Wed. 1 week and I had over 10 videos. I have a real nice 8 ptr. 130 class, about 10" tines, typical. 3 videos of him at just past midnight, but checking out my mock scrapes. hope he comes around during shooting hours. man 20 yds from my stand. what a brute, I'd say bout 200 or better for weight. I haven't seen him before on film so this may be promising.
Nothing seen on Wed while hunting. I'll be heading out Sat for a week long bow hunt up north, so maybe something will be happening up there.
Can you feel it? the calm before the storm. starting to get butterflies for the first/second week of Nov.
Good luck to everyone and lets get some points on the board.

Dean did you ever get your buck on the board?

Had what I think was a pretty good buck hang up just out of sight this morning. Of course he came from a very thick direction and just like an old gobbler, he stayed there. Its obvious to me that it was a buck by the way the deer was acting. I never saw it but I'm pretty sure it was at least a decent deer.

Thats my last hunt till I leave next week for Illinois. I head out on Wednesday. Hopefully this cool weather will continue.

Sorry boys, I haven't been able to hunt since I shot the doe. Too much going on with the kids and I'm leaving next Wednesday for Ontario for 12 days. Backpacking into an area no one has hunted to chase some bucks that have never seen a person before. Going to be an awesome trip. Leaving the bow at home and taking the rifle on this trip. I plan on walking a lot of miles and exploring some awesome country that I've never seen before.

Damn! got busted by that big 8 ptr last night. DAMN DAMN DAMN! He was 15 yds away walking on a trail, I started to pull back so when he went past a clump of tree I'd be ready. NOPE! he saw me, he didn't smell me but did that stupid head bob checking me out. Didn't like what he saw and turned around, 3 bounds and out of sight. DAMN,DAMN DAMN!
Well I'm going up north for a week so hopefully he's memory isnt' as good and the rut will be starting then I'll get him. I won't have computer access so hopefully you all are successfull.
Hopefully I'll come through with something.
I'll try to have Fergus post for me if I do whack something.
Good luck to everyone on the team.

Just over 2 days till I head to Illinois for a week! I'm excited and ready to go (other than the 13 hour drive solo). If anyone wants my cell number I can text updates as to what I'm seeing and hopefully a hero shot early in the week!! Just shoot me a PM with your cell and I'll text back.

got the week off of work and plan on spending most of it in a tree. My son (fishsoft92) shot his 1st archery deer yesterday. 50 points for team 32. Out this morning, I saw nothing. BIL was literally surrounded by deer at 8:45. He could see 7 deer in all directions, but none presented a shot. Be back at it this afternoon. Gonna be a good week.

Doe down, Shot this morning. We had a cold front come in temp down to 25. Had a spike come in at first light then half hour later this doe came through being pushed hard and fast by two others. I let out a loud bleat she stopped dead in her tracks at 20 yard put the the pin on hit the trigger. I watched as the ram cat smoked thru her. All three took off but she only made it about 50 yard before crashing. 50 points for team 2!
