I have been looking into getting a drop away arrow rest, but have no experience with them. I currently have a trophy ridge whisker biscuit arrow rest and before that an Octane Hostage Rest (which I hated). What would you recommend for a new hunter?

I currently have a NAP Apache and like it. I'll be going to a Fuse Ultra Rest tho after this season when I switch to a Hoyt.
Depends on your budget, Quality Archery Designs has several levels of their drop away rest. Their top of the line model is the HDX which is what I have and I really like it. Was using a WB before.
I can budget from about $100-$150 , but would it be a good investment over my current rest? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I think the WB is a fine rest but it can be rough on arrow fetching and there can be issues if it get's wet. If you are shooting well with it keep using it, if you are looking to change it up and you have a $150 budget I would take a look at the QAD HDX. I've seen them on ebay for around $100.
Whisker biscuit is a great rest. I still have a limbdriver dropaway sitting in my archery box. Figured i would give it a try...ended up going back to the biscuit. Its simple and it works. No moving parts or anything to go wrong with it. Blazer vanes seem to be the best out of it.
If you're looking to change just because you want to, there are a lot of good drop aways in your price range. QAD, Ripcord, Trophy Taker, and Limbdriver to name a few. If you're changing because you think a drop away will be a better hunting rest, save your money. As a pure hunting rest, the WB is tough to beat. SCFox
I personally hate the WB and feel there are plenty of better options. The QAD or pro v limbdriver would be 2 options. As long as it isn't a fallaway that falls very early and allows some guidance, it will be fine. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
great advice everyone!!. I was mainly looking to replace the WB to improve accuracy when hunting, but if there isn't much difference ill start my research until it fails. Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I am not to sure what a ripcord rest is. I haven't done much research yet , i wanted to come get advice to get pointed in the right direction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
A WB can be just as accurate as a dropaway. I have a few robin hoods to prove it. Several years ago I made the switch to a dropaway with my most recent one being a Limbdriver. This year I switched back to a WB. For the type of hunting I do, it fits me the best.
Finch- what type of hunting is that? I am looking to hunt pig, turkey, this year and deer next year, how would the WB handle that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
So what does tuning intel? Getting the arrow rest to drop before the fletching pass through? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
