The guys at my local shop invited me to go hunt with them this weekend and be on film with them! Going to help take down stands and pack the camp up since that whole area will be getting logged soon. Frustration. Behind my house and across the road from the state land I hunt sits about 1200 acres of old farm land. This is a deer sanctuary, regardless of weather, wind, etc I can ride up there at dusk and loose count of deer. Just now I counted 23 in 3 different fields along with 3 bucks. The biggest being the one I got on video back in August. These fields are relatively small, and hold ridiculous amounts of deer. I have asked permission before and this lady is such an anti-hunter and shows no respect towards hunters at all. Needed to vent this because about this time of year deer vanish out of their summer haunts that I hunt and inhabit this property. Rant over. Rut around the corner and lets pray they cross the road tailing a doe and I get lucky.

Good luck Michael shoot a big one and ever one else going out. we have a good frost this morning so the turn ups should be good but with the wind ,im hunting a different property because of the slight north wind is horrible for the 380 watertown property. shoot a big ole swamp donkey good luck every one!!!
My reezen is in the shop it felll out of a tree last week it slipped of the tree peg and down it goes. So breaking out the Q2 see what we can shoot with the older Mathews!
Yep...luckily we stay at a campground on state property (read: public hunting) that is about 20 minutes away and appears to be lightly hunted during bow season. Gun season is supposedly crazy, though. Also, I am going to ask some of the neighbors to see if we can bow hunt their properties. I might take a year or two away from hunting WI if I can't get some private land under my belt for the coming seasons.
Congrats you had better luck than me. Lost my quiver last night fell out of my pack, went to look for it this morning found it checked the cameras sense I was out have some nice bucks and jumped a monster buck right on the edge of a throw and grow clover plot!
So the weekend didn't turn out so well. All started when we got there Friday night to find the little house they used for "camp" had been broken into and looked like squatters had been living in it. We ended up sleeping in the trucks, and got rained on for the morning hunt. After getting all the stands down and loaded up onto the flatbed trailers we did an evening hunt and I got to watch a muskrat playing around in a watering hole for the majority of the time. Bad luck again for me on a hunting trip, but hey AU beat Texas A&M and hurt Johnny Football so that's not too bad. Now I'm headed back to bed, ended up getting sick from sitting in the rain I guess or it was already in the process LOL
Seeing a few deer and alot of deer moving locally. Just not in the right spots at the right time it seems. Going to set a new set and sit tonight and hope it pans out seeings its where they have been traveling. sent from the room next door!
