Absolute garbage of a hunting night....got out later than I wanted.....run and gunned it with my hang on and sticks...couldnt find the spot I wanted...no sign anywhere...got to late and had to set up somewhere.....which happened to be 200 yards outside of the funnel I wanted to be in....didnt even see a squirrel...then on the way out tripped and fell in the river....yikes Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
I didn't get to go out today like I wanted I couldn't fit my broken foot in my hunting boots because I had cowboy boots on all day yesterday so between that and the wedding yesterday lol I am very hopeful to be out tomorrow morning Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Bummer. Any night hunting is still better than a night at home or work. Now as for swimming in the river, this wouldn't be my preferred time of year for that.
Been busy over here for a while....hope everyone is getting ready for the best part of the season....im heading out sunday night for a little bday hunt after a day with the fam....I feel like there should be a nice present out in them there woods for me somewhere...we need some points people Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
I went out Sunday morning for the first time this season. 45min after shooting light I had 2 doe & a button buck come in at 20yds. I decided to take the biggest doe when she came out from the bushes. I drew back settled the pin & on release I'm not sure what happened but I hit her too far back, I just cringed as I watched her go to the top of the hill & bed down. About 30min later 3 doe came in behind me & winded me, they started blowing & ran in the direction of the doe I shot. She jumped up & ran with them, My heart sank! I hoped that i might have at least gotten liver but once I got down I found my the front 20" of arrow with nothing but hair & green on it. I did find a good blood trail to where she had bedded but once she ran I couldn't find any sign. I zig zagged & criss crossed the property for 4hrs. I'm almost positive she went onto some property that won't allow anyone to retrieve a deer. It makes me sick that it happened! The only good thing was I saw a total of 11 deer, 6 within 20yds. I also found 8 fresh scrapes, I've never seen more than 3 scrapes on this 40acres. There's been a lot of logging & burning on the neighbors 350ac the last couple of years so I hope that the bucks are going to be on my property more this year! I'll hopefully be out again this weekend. Good luck everyone!
Saw a few doe this weekend.Found a lot of rubs and a few scrapes.Hunting the 27th,31st,1st,2nd,and 3rd.
I've been trying to get out but between my injuries&3 daughters I've been busy. Thw property we hunt has been extremely slow, is was over hunted&some jerks out there. Disappointed Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Team - I've been a little MIA with work and travel but, should be back on the forum more often. Glad to see everyone updates! I got out once this season with nothing to show. Will be out on Saturday form dark to dark looking for some horns. I'm excited to spend the whole day out there. There are always a few good ones running around.
saw 4 bucks. No shooters.the 2 smallest ones got in a fight 10 yds from the stand.headin to the same stand tonight
Made it home to hunt for the weekend. A ton of bucks moving around but just outside of daylight hours. 6:30 am and 8 PM. I'm planning to just shoot a doe tomorrow until they really start moving and I can get back to shoot a buck. Here goes.
