Ya it is different I live and hunt PA, but I also avidly hunt Ohio. I'm currious of the number of doe that will be killed. I only hunt game lands so it's difficult no matter what, I know a lot of people are making a big deal about it, I talked to ODNR and they said it's to thin the doe numbers out and to make an intense rut. Guess we shall see

I'm sure there will be quite a few that get called in and a few that won't be called in.

I've been off work for a solid to weeks (thanks gov't shutdown) but have only been able to hunt twice. Partly due to hot weather, but mostly due to getting things done for the wedding. My wife wanted us to make most of the decorations ourselves, so I had been working on that. Was going to hunt this morning, but instead, I'm sick in bed. This bites. Can't hunt when I'm coughing up lungs.

Well Guys I made it in the stand tonight. Unfortunately I didn't see much. This was a new stand that I put up last Thursday. I was really optimistic but I didn't see anything. I think I had a bad wind. I picked the better of my two stands based on the wind but in all reality the wind wasn't good for either. Also I think until it cools off a little more the deer won't be moving much in the daylight. Just thought I should give an update. I'm guessing the weather is going to change fairly soon which will really help. :tu:

I went over to our lease on Friday afternoon. I knew it was going to be a bad weekend with the temps and wind. Filmed two bucks that came out at 6:10pm and milled around for a bit then took off. Might go out this coming Saturday but really just waiting until the end of the month when things should start popping.

Heading to the stand this afternoon. Checked a Mock scrape this weekend and a buck had just peed in it.

Got out to the stand at 3:40, which was about 40 minutes later than I wanted to. Was walking into the woods and swore I smelled deer pee. Got 20 yards from where I put up my climber and kicked up a deer. Brush was too thick to see if it was a buck or a doe. Wish I'd gotten here when I wanted to. I figured I'd try anyway since it didn't snort or stomp, but have seen nothing but squrrel since.

sorry i have't been on for awhile. Its been going good. i had a buck yesterday i was going to shoot but he got into the brush before i could shoot. don't know how big he was but i looked at the rack from the side and i liked it it. 5 points and the g-4 was 4 to 5 inches long. dark rack. i put up a new stand for next morning i can get out. my old one broke when i stood up to try to shoot this buck. one of the cables on the side broke. glad i had my safety harness on if the other one would have broke. Good Luck everyone.

I have yet to see a deer from the stand yet. Only 2 weeks and 2 days and I will be enroute to Kansas. Pretty sure I will see some deer out there in stand.

Well I made it in the stand last night and saw nothing but a black squirrel. It was cold yesterday. Wind blowing 15 mph at 32 degrees. I thought the weather would make em move because we had flurries for a while but nothing came in. On a cool side note while driving out of the woods a few miles down the road I witnessed my very first white deer. I couldn't tell if it was an albino because it's head was facing away but it was completely white! Also I finally have some bucks on camera which is a relief. I almost thought I've bought my cam for nothing because all I was getting was does, squirrels, turkeys, and tons of raccoon pics. Here are the pics I got in the last few days of the bucks.
