So yesterday was a good day in the deer woods. Myself and one of my buddy's and his wife all filled tags with a triple. Felt good to have everyone be successful in our evening hunt. I pulled the ol' stick and string back at 4:00 at 17 yards on a young doe making her way towards my stand. She came out of the other side of the tree and walk straight at me. Finally at 10 yards underneath me she turned slightly quartering away. Put the pin on her opposite shoulder and let it fly. She ran 40 yards and piled up. I felt horrible afterwards because no more than 5 mins later her fawn came down the same trail. If I had known this I would have possibly passed on her. She no longer had spots and seemed large enough to be on her own now and i truly believe she'll be ok. Absolutely loving my Killzone Maxx's. Absolutely tore her up and left an impressive blood trail a blind man could follow! Her opposite leg was back and when the arrow blew through her it nearly sliced her leg in half on its way out. 45 minutes later I get a text from my buddy that he just got one too! Good sized mature doe at 6 yards under his stand. Basically shot downwards at her. Went in high and came out under her belly. she took 3 steps and fell over. 2 blade Schwacker Broadhead. Not 20 mins after that we get a text from his wife, she got one too! Her first deer! On top of that it was a buck, a spiker. She got the job done with a great shot and we are very proud of her. Over all it was a great evening in the deer woods and boy did the bed of the truck look good full of deer! Left: Buddy's wife Kim Middle: Buddy Ray Right: Me
Thanks guys! Appreciate it! Felt good to pull the ol' stick and string back and get the first kill of the season. I had my epic action cam on my stabilizer and unfortunately didn't get the shot on video. I held down the power button when she came in and it brought me to the menu screen and when I was pressing the other button to record it was on the menu screen and wasn't recording so it go to the point where I had to say forget it and just draw back already. When the second deer came down the trail no more than 5 mins later I got to video her at least and got to see how the quality of the camera is. Next one will def be on video! Not forgetting or waiting to press record from here on out!
