Good luck AT. It's going to be I the mid to upper 80's here. I hope to be in a stand by next week. Bucks start Oct 7. Sent from my iPhone using TapaTalk
I am going in the morning its going to be hot but I need to get my hunting fix. If I see a doe I don't think I will take her but if the buck on camera shows up I am going to let the arrow fly.
Well I didn't see anything this morning besides some heavy machinery. But the only good thing that came out of today is that I talked to people putting in the field tile and they will be done today. Sent from my iPhone using TapaTalk[/QUOTE]
Congrats Trout...heck of a season so far. Opening day is tomorrow here in Virginia. I'll be hunting the morning but not the evening since it's gonna be upper 80's. Ready for some cool weather.
Got the weekend off its 83 degrees here today skipped this morning and probably this afternoon too Will be after them tomorrow morning though I'm trying to get my sleep schedule off of working nights good luck to everyone and stay safe! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Nice going Pearce! How warm did it get today? I don't know what's worse hunting in the heat or freezing cold. At least in the cold you don't have to worry about the meat. Sent from my iPad Mini using Tapatalk Bows, Broadheads and Backstraps
It was about 70 degrees today it rained most of the day shot her in a break Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Still trying to pattern a good one here. Past a few does, seen some smaller bucks (biggest being 120") but nothing that's got me excited yet. They're out there.... waiting on the right one
Congrats Pierce! On a side note I noticed we didn't get credit for my buck yet on the official scoring page because I didn't specify how the buck scored. I will try to find my sheet where I have that written down and enter that in. Right now my buck is at the Taxidermy so I'll have to find the scoring paper. Keep up the good huntin' fellas.
Rain all day today, reminence of the hurricane. I'll most likely be going out tomorrow morning. I just have to figure out which of 4 properties to hit. I'll check the wind in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using TapaTalk
Congrats on the doe pearce. Well i got out yesterday and the day had some real highs and some extreme lows. I couldn't hunt the morning due to all the rain but i did go and check my cams and i got a lot of pics of does. I got out around 12:30 and i saw my first deer of the season around 3:10 which was when i was expecting them. They were playing around for an hour and while i was watching them i had a group of does sneak by me at 12 yards. The winded me and left. They eventually came back but then so did 5 other deer. They busted me except for a doe and a fawn. The doe knew something wasn't right so they started to walk away. I took that time to draw my bow and get down on 1 knee to take the 25 yard shot at the fawn. The shot looked ok but it turned out to be a liver and gut shot. I looked for a while but it got dark and we were going into unknown territory so we had no choice but to leave. This is the first deer i have ever lost and i'm pretty shook up about it. I know it happens to every hunter but it still gets to you. I wish I took more time on the shot. I wont be back out this weekend but I will the following.
Congrats on the doe, Pearce. More points on the board.. Chall08, Fitz still needs info from you on your kill. I haven't been out much lately. Still recovering from an opening day tick bite that left me in the hospital for a day with a lot of tests and four and a half bags of fluid. Not Lymes, but another tick-borne disease called ehrliciosis (sp.). Very run down and tired. Hopefully the next few weeks will get better.
Congrats pearce I went out only once this weekend and I got poured on and so it was no good. Hope u feel better Mike.
