Who else uses Google Earth to help them with trail camera placement?

I use it quite a bit to figure out where I should move a camera to get as much info I can on a certain buck. I also like to use the push pins to mark my cameras.

I actually do the same thing with camera and stand placement. It has worked out good for me.

I like to use google earth as well. Like to look at it when I can't get out to the property and hunt or scout. Good tool to find locations.

i use the reconyx buck view advanced software. its free and you don't need a reconyx to get it. you can out line a food plot and it will tell you the acreage.
its pretty much google earth on steroids

    Software: BuckView | RECONYX, Inc.

Not really for placing them, I only hunt 40 acres that I put cameras on and I pretty well know it like the back of my hand. I do use a program called My Tracks on my cellphone which overlays my walking trail as I walk onto a Google earth image, and I will also use it to mark where I have placed my cameras so if I forget I can always go back and look.

I think GE is one of the greatest tools out there for a bowhunter. Marking signs, cams, stands, kills. Scouting is awesome with it. For some areas I know how far of a shot I'll be able to take, before I ever even hang a stand.

It got even better with my iPhone, using MotionX GPS I can download all my scouting hunting data right into GE.

    Love it, love it!

I use it to get an idea of what I'm walkin into at a property I haven't been too. If ya put it so your "walkin" (I think it's called ground view mode) it is pretty damn accurate as to what kind of hills an ridges an other landscape features are there that I can use to my advantage before I even set foot on it!

I use Google Earth regularly. Its one of my best tools to figure out access, stand sites, possible travel corridors.

But thats only the first step. I learn so much more when I take the time to walk a particular area. There are some spots that are primo but you just can't see them from an aerial.

I use it to mark my cams, there's still a cam out there that I seem to have forgotten about before I started marking them on google earth. One of these days I'll find it along with a gold mine of pics.

I use it for stand and camera placement / tracking. It great to walk into a property in the dark and know exactly where you are at. Even if you have never been there before!
