I went out to my private land this morning, had a great morning. Didn't take a shot at anything, but it's an awful lot of fun being 20ft in the air in the middle of the woods. Stayed until about noon. Decided to head back to civilization, get a little nap, take my sons out after they got home from school. I ran by the public land that's close to our house to throw up a ground blind (I know it's a crap shoot) and this is what I found.

I noticed a thread about this the other day, but I didn't think it would happen to hunting land.

Exactly what is the cost savings of shutting down the Federal land? They will still have officers that are considered "essential" to enforce the sign. So...where is the savings? the grounds crew?

There isnt savings. The repubs. Shutdown the gov. But obama decideds what gets defunded. This is just a ploy to make outdoor enthusits suffer from the evil repubs. Same as obama also shutting down ww2 memorial when a ceremony is schudeled this week with ww2 vets. Dont get cought up in the b.s. go hunt it anyway! Show them big brother isnt needed anyway. Your tax dollars bought it so use it!

I'm not getting caught up. I'm calling them out on the BS. I don't blame the Repubs for not moving on the issue. We've raised the debt limit TOO MANY TIMES already. We don't have a budget without ObamaCare we certainly shouldn't have one with it.

It's unfortunate but Our governments spending is obviously out of control and I don't feel like most liberals care.

Can't we just take all this political crap to the water cooler where it belongs and keep this about hunting.

When they Shut down hunting land it overlaps. Otherwise I would agree.

But we can keep it more about hunting.

When do you think our Government will open up the Federal Land again?

Incorrect, CONGRESS shutdown the government. Both sides are equally to blame.

If you have paid your taxes you have every right to be there. It's for public use is it not?

What's not entirely clear from the picture is the land is fenced. That sign is attached to a gate that is 8ft. tall. You have to go through that gate to get in. As of this morning, the gate has a giant lock on it. Since I'm only using this land as a closer place so that my sons could hunt after school with me, I have to consider what I'm teaching my sons. I don't want to be the guy explaining to some Federal Agent why I jumped a fence with my sons on opening day.

How about if we just say when cooler heads prevail and leave it at that my friend. I wish I had an exact answer for you but I don't.
