At School...... ugh oh well i can probably make it out thursday if everything works out but i will only be able to sit for a couple of hours.. Gotta Love high school..
No rush here...Vk got her deer so we're good for meat. I will be picking up a City hunt-deer management tag(antlerless) today and picking up one of the 2 dogs that got into a porcupine this morning from the vet...pulling the quills on the other myself in a couple minutes. Warm and windy anyway and supposed to be that way until the weekend when it's supposed to rain. Maybe Sunday after the rain passes or Monday sometime depending on if I am working or not.
I won't be able to hunt Saturday morning. Maybe the evening/afternoon of that day. At least I already have a doe down.
Not out there, was 42 yesterday morning and near 60 this morning, not overly upset. Hoping to get out Friday and or Saturday but rain and temps not ideal either. Sunday Morning looks decent here, back in the 40's but hate having to do everything in one evening as I work the next day. I'm just glad the option is here if I choose to do so.

I thought the same thing until I saw the wind forcast. 20mph winds for saturday. That's not ideal. Looks like Sunday will be the better day right now.

Taking my dad Saturday afternoon. Might get out on my own Sunday. After this weekend I'm probably tied up until late October.
I skipped the opener. I have not hunted the opener for MANY years. Most years I do not even think about going out until at least the middle of the month. But, this year I will likely get out early and sit on an oak ridge or two just to see if I can snag one early. It would be fun to help my team take such a commanding lead that we could never be caught! lol Speaking of.....Shed, score your buck or I'm coming out to do it for you! Half of our team is so good that they didn't even worry about getting photos of their first doe. lol
Early doe is the only thing in right now. I went out last night, nothing. Probably skip the rest of the week because its hot. The regular season opener is saturday. I'll be out even though its supposed to be warm then too.
Season started Sep. 7th and I still haven't been out. I always wait for a good frost before I hit the woods. Still got 25 vacation days to burn when the weather gets nice.
I'm here at work as well. Probably for a long time as well, just launched my big project here at work so I have to take care of issues that arise. Once the new wears off I have nothing planned but hunting.
Hunting the morning but back in the work saddle this afternoon...too warm, deer aren't seeking yet from what we can tell and not the best winds for some of my early season stands.
Opening day up where I am at in northern ontario. Right now Im in my bunk heading outto set nets (commercial fisherman) just thinking of my treestand. Blowing over 15 knots south here so we got a nice roll on and Im pretending thats my tree rocking back and forth.
