were the bulls bugling for you? The first night we went out it was September 6th and we found ourselves pinned between three bulls that thought they were at a calling competition. We were so mesmerized by it we kinda forgot to hunt and just sat there and listened.

I filled my tag opening morning. I ended up putting my bow up an calling the rest of the day. The next day we took the meat to dads house an processed it. We went back the 3rd an they were going crazy. It was awesome. We ended up stalking in on a 4x but my sister didnt have a clean shot. The next two days they were screaming all day long.

Ive passed up shots on cows every year early in the hunt. This year I decided to take the first legal Elk I could. 15 mins after daylight other hunters spooked a calf that ran out at 35 yards. It was over after that. I hope we get back in them next year.

We didn't do to bad on the elk we filled 3 out of 6 tags. One was his first elk. It was fun.

All this elk talk makes me want to do it! I'm going to wait for a while because NV has some crazy time periods between elk tag draws, like 5 years between tags. That and I don't yet have the amount of vacation that I think I'd need to be successful.
