Good news! The plots are doing great since the showers we received Saturday and a buck we call Shorty, that has never been caught on camera, but I do have his right side shed from last year, got caught by the Red40 this morning. He should be at least 5 this year but I'm thinking he may be older.

Nice lookin buck Shorty is. Good luck with him. Season has been open three weeks here and I have only been out 4 times. Had deer close on three but no shooters. Been too busy with work and family to spend much time out on stand. I can put more emphasis on hunting beginning next week. The weather won't be so warm and things should start to pick up. Keeping my fingers crossed. It may be time to break out the lucky sweatshirt. Good luck guys!

Didn't get out for the opening weekend.... I will for sure be out this weekend and there is a nice cold front coming thru Friday.
Guys I'm sad to report that my North Dakota trip was a complete bust. Only things that walked by me were slick heads. Didn't help that my outfitter had a family emergency or something and wasn't available to help. Still a good trip though. Still hoping for good things from my Illinois trip in 3 weeks. Shooting for at least 190 points still.
Good luck on you Illinois trip jimmy! I'm going to head out and check a few cams at the lease on Thursday. I'll be in the stand Saturday and Sunday. Looking to whack a doe quick so I can concentrate on finding a shooter buck. I know of at least 4-5 shooters on the lease, but they haven't showed up for awhile on cam. End of October is when it usually starts heating up. I did find a nice fresh scrape while checking plots and cams on a local farm today.

I had a shooter go past my stand at 70 yards opening day in ohio. Too far for this guy. He came right down wind of me but I had the ozonics going and he never detected I was there
