Good luck to everyone making it out this weekend! I was unfortunately broking into the other night, our shed at least. They took my ice auger and a 6 gal. gas can. That was it from my place lucky for me. Left my stands worth way more then the ice auger and gas. Got one of the neighbors for several grand I think, he has serial number for a lot of the stuff taken. Hopefully they catch the lowlifes.
Well, it was a very windy night, and a wet morning. I only saw one deer, but no shot opportunity. It looked to be a decent buck, but he was about 50-60 yards away going from the corn field back into the thick nasty stuff to bed down before the rain turned on. Here are a few pics from the stand. I am sitting on a narrow strip of trees with corn on the south, and beans to the north. This is what I would have had to shoot through to get the buck that went by. At least I got to see one, that is always a plus for a first sit. I didn't get a pic of the view over the beans. Maybe next time I will remember.
Its 2 days until Opening Day I went out and got my license in a new range finder today. How is everyone else doing? Some of you are out hunting some of us are almost there. We need some points for dirty 30 I'm really hoping to get one on opening day good luck everyone! Went out to some public land today. Got there real early, hung a stand, and saw 10 does. Need to get closer next time though. May go in with the ground blind tomorrow evening.
