So I'm not going to lie I'm a little disappointed now that I finally got the new toxics in and read all the reviews on how they shoot dead on with field points mine were everywhere whistled when I shot and were just flat out inconsistent. I took my bow to the local shop in town and made sure it was paper tuned I don't know if it is a defective pack or what? Any suggestions?
I've got some 3 blade rage chisel tips now shot a doe with one last tuesday afternoon and was impressed. I actually won the toxics in a drawing I'm just trying to figure out where everyone else is sayin the fly like a field point.
Thats strange because in the Petersen's bowhunting mag i read today ... Those toxics did really well in testing... They are the ones with hoop like head right ??
They shot fantastic for me. How did your bow do through paper? How is your form? Have you shot other fixed heads before? Sent from my soup can and string
I was going to ask the same thing. You need a good tune and good solid form to shoot fixed heads consistently. Nothing wrong with mechanicals at all, but they can be a band-aid masking a problem sometimes. I like to walk back tune and paper tune. By the time I do both I can shoot pretty much any broadhead I want out to 50 yards (max on my home range). Good luck man!
I still dont see what was wrong with the classic broadhead blade arrangement ? Millions of animals have died from the classics, from the first time I saw Toxic's in a magazine I didn't think they were anything more than a new gimmick from another company out to get our money........They archery/hunting market generates tons of money off us ready to try the "new thing" Some are good advancements in the sport some are just gimmicks to get your money.
I believe the same was said about compound bows and fiber optics at one time. More to the point , just about everything new. Real world application has a tendency of weeding out the gimmicks from " gimmie's "
You do realize that all of these gimmick dollars still go into the Pitmann-Robertson act to fund conservation nation wide, correct? You don't need to shoot anything other than your traditional heads but don't bash on anything that will ultimately help us. FWIW, that toxic head is out performing nearly everything out there right now. Sent from my soup can and string
My bow is paper tuned perfectly I took it to my local bow shop just to double check and make sure nothing bumped loose or changed I have shot fixed blades before and they shot perfectly fine... Defective pack maybe?
People have a right to spend their hard earned money on whatever suits their fancy. Im just wondering how many people who saw that broadhead and went "ooh" and "ahh" also were the proud owners of the Pet Rock when that came out too ! We also as human beings tend to advance and out science our own selves into some pretty strange, non common sensical things, and ways of thought. First it was the musket and then the A-Bomb, look how thats helped humanity. Dont fool with the basic broadhead design, it may just lead to the worlds end.......food for thought
What type of fletchings do you shoot? I believe the Toxic heads are not recommended for helical fletchings. It could explain the poor flight and whistling.
I highly doubt any broadhead design will EVER have any influence in any way to the worlds end. Seriously, why would you not want any advancement in archery design and products? Sent from my soup can and string
What I dont understand is I have one arrow and broadhead that will fly consistent the other two I can't pattern at all I'm fixin to google walk back tuning
So he had me do the walk back tuning at the bow shop too I didnt realize that it is what I was doing when I did it but he had me do that and he had a fancy laser tool he put on my bow to show it was perfectly aligned for his final test.
Have you shot any other fixed heads out of this bow? I would also suggest BH tuning. This can be found through Google as well.
