Good luck NC.......I will not be starting to hunt WT's until the 28th as I am in elk mode right now. Finally had a decent 150+ show up on camera about 2 weeks ago. Very wide and okay tine length.

    Giddy up

Bear season kicks off here tomorrow and I am jacked! As of today I still had a nice 200 pounder coming in, so I am hoping he does the same tomorrow!

Well people, got some good news. Checked my SD cards on my new stealth cam. got 45 videos with 3 bucks on there. A 10, 8 and 6 ptr. The 10 is decent, but not much outside the ears. I"d say 110-120, but he has a cool split brow tine on the left. The tines are bout 5-6". Hard to tell still in velvet. He's been eating right next to the camera several times at early light and early evening. Some does on film also. I'll try to upload tomorrow and let you see. I got some real cool videos of turkeys also. Man that Stealth cam Sniper has incredible sound. It picked up turkeys puttn and purrin during a rain storm. Looks promising for an early hunt anyway. Just not sure I wanna whack that 10 ptr. Not enough points. but then again it's all different when they're under your stand. I just put a third camera up and trimmed another trail for the deer to use on the East side of the property. I'll check those cams after opening weekend.
Beagle, good luck on that bear hunt. I'm looking forward to some bear at the gtg next year.

Well gents, it didn't take long! I shot my first bear last night and what an adventure it was! He came in at 6:10 with another bear shortly behind. I waited for the second bear to get in to the bait (initially thought it was bigger) and made my decision. My bear laid down perfectly broadside and I settled the pin. The shot was a little far back (ended up catching one lung and liver) but the bear roared up and ran 40 yards before we thought he stopped.
We waited for half an hour thinkin that he had piled up right where we last saw him. Not the case. He ended up going 350 yards through the thickest, nastiest stuff he could find. It was quite the relief to finally walk up on him. We gutted him, and wrestled and tugged and tripped getting him out for another hour.
We finally made it to the truck about 10:30. We snapped a few pictures that Ill get posted up here soon. He dressed out at 190 pounds

Hey Hank not sure if you have requested a replacement for our no show yet, but I went ahead and posted the info for Fitz. He was asking if there were any others.

Is that appropriate for a family forum?

Looks like a pretty good team here boys and some familiar faces. I'm in the middle of squash harvest, so I won't be on much the next week, but I'll check in and see how everyone is doing.
