On my old bow I would always take it off and place in my pack, on my spyder I have not added a quiver yet. I was just going to stick my arrows in my pack and zip up till both zippers met the arrows in the middle. Always felt there was added noise with the quiver on.
Mine is always on the bow. But I have to ask, what difference does it make for hunting? Is it a noise issue? Weight issue? Or something else?
I practice with it off and the only time it's on my bow is when I'm walking to my stand. I put it on the hanger once I'm in the stand, but that's just me.
Weight, noise, and vision. God forbid my cameraman catch my arrow in his neck because I couldn't see him behind my quiver when I was at full drawl. :p Or me miss another larger buck tailing the buck I am getting ready to shoot. I really see no advantage having it on there other then some can argue you could get a quicker follow up shot. I am sure when and if that happens I will tell myself I should have left the quiver on.
I just ordered one to try it out, how do u like shooting with it? Big difference versus one of the more popular quivers?
I bought a small day pack last year with a quiver on the side, I still have a quiver on the bow just in case, but I can keep other types of heads for varmint, target, and big game with the extra space...
I had an Octane before this and I always ended up taking it off due to noise and being so far from the bow it seemed to induce torque on my end. The Tightspot is great. I notice the extra weight from the quiver with arrows but that's it. It can be adjusted to sit so tight to the bow you have to watch your limbs or cable slide don't hit it, no new noises (some have said they had to glue the hood insert in better), and being able to adjust it to fit a large range of shaft diameters is very nice. I really like. It is expensive but worth it. I am not one to say something is good due to price alone. Even if I paid a lot and didn't like it, I would tell you. I don't believe in having anything on my bow that doesn't work for me just because it's a name brand or expensive.
I hunt with mine on. Most of the year I practice without it but before season it goes on for practice and hunting.
Always take it off in the stand. I tie it to the stand hanging off one side. just one less thing to snag when you raise your bow for a shot
Take it off cause its easier to move my bow around and its less wieght to the right side gotta keep it balanced
