Yes Alberta is much more expensive than Ontario. Alberta everything is more expensive. A slice if cheese that costs .20 cents in Ontario costs $1 in Alberta. Province of Alberta has no retail tax what so ever. So they rape you on everything else.

And yes boys kill every coyote you see. I will shoot everyone I see in tree stand. And come January February I am out there with fox pro calling for them. I really don't care if I totally make them extinct in my area. I'm all about fair chase, making clean kills, follow rules of my provinces hunting regs. When it comes to coyotes all that goes out the window. Ill shoot in the leg I don't care just want the sob gone. This year I have about 6 does I've seen now without fawn in the picture. I'm very worried. I've sent letters to all my broj ours to allow me to slaughter these coyotes.

I also have seen no fawns this year with my resident does... And it should have been a banner year resource wise - no drought in that area. Yotes? EHD? Who knows...

I'm lucky in that we're starting to see more does on our property. We had a mom with twins last year, but we lost the mom and one of the twins to EHD. This year the surviving twin stayed and had twins herself.
She's on a strict no shoot policy. Hopefully the idiot neighbors don't get her.

I've been seeing fawns galore here all summer. This EHD deal sucks, to make matters worse I read an article last night in the local paper about CWD being found in MO and trying to keep it under control....

Anyone else think CWD is being propagated from high processed protein feed?

We always have a DNR guy at the check in station checking for CWD but I have never seen or heard of a case of it. I think it's more propaganda than propagated (sorry, couldn't pass up the opportunity).

I've been so busy with work the past few months I haven't had a chance to think about hunting. Now that it's slowed down I can barely sleep at night. All I can see is a buck in my sights. Hope that is deja vu.

Well, I couldn't stand it any longer so I pulled my SD cards this morning. Pretty disappointing...one card was locked so nothing at all and it was one of two that I really expected to catch a lot of traffic. I don't think the card itself was locked but the camera display said memory card locked. The lock slide wasn't locked though and the camera took 2 test pics when I set it..

Of the other three, one is on a feeder and was set too high, the only available thing to set it on was just too tall but overlooked the trail coming in so I thought I'd catch deer moving in and out. Unfortunately I had 130 pics of ears and very few of velvet and nothing impressive. One looked to be a smallish 8.

The other two had a couple sixes and mostly does and fawns. I had maybe 50 pics of does, one with papilloma virus on her face...or ticks...I couldn't tell which for sure.

I have soybeans about 5' deep everywhere and they are podding right now, it's going to be tricky to pull deer into a concentrated spot away from 50 acres of beans here. The feeder has corn in it but they don't seem too interrested in it.

Here are a couple of pics of a bear I took a few years back on Prince Whales Island Alaska. It was a DIY hunt that I did and back then it ran me about $1800 for everything. I rented a truck and a small boat to cruise the bays and inlets so that I could glass the tidal flats. Stayed in a rustic cabin and went to the one grocery store to stock up when I got there. In all I saw 40+ bears before I shot this one. He made B&C over 21 inches. Squared 7' 8". Really cool trip! I'd do it again if I had the chance but I heard that they went to a draw system for bear tags on the island so I don't know how easy it'd be to draw one.
