Having trouble deciding to keep my whisker biscuit or go to a fall away. The trouble I'm having is when I draw back my arrow, I can hear it scrapping across the whiskers on the biscuit. Here's another problem, I'm shooting tight groups at 20-30-40-50 and 60 yards. To me the sound is loud since I notice it is there. Is this something I should worry about when I'm out hunting?
Try Scorpion Venom Whisker Biscuit Spray, it reduces friction and noise. If not that then see if it's the type of arrow shaft you have, gold tips for instance have a rough shaft while others are smooth and don't cause any scraping on the bristles. I had a deer turn and look up at me while drawing but I could hear it and it was loud too. After that I went to a drop away. I hated hearing that noise when its one of those super quiet mornings in the woods
I know what you mean. I use the Bemen ICS hunter arrows ( not the pro) and they are very smooth. Someone mentioned putting a very small piece of cotton one the inside bottom of the biscuit to quiet it up and it works great. Try it. Haven't tried the spray.
I just put on a new WB and had a lot of arrow noise squeaking on the draw. I rubbed the black rest whiskers with a q-tip only as to not interfere with any of the brown whiskers where the arrow passes through. Now I have no noise and I've put about 100 arrows through without yet having to "recharge" with another rub from the qtip.
I've been shooting Beman Hunters and they're making some noise on the draw also. Going to a QAD in a couple days.
