what would you do?? dealing with some but the land owner wants them gone but he don't want to press charges on them??
Don't worry about it and enjoy your hunts. Put out a few posted signs and if you see him let him know nicely he's trespassing and leave it at that.
He doesn't have to know that the land owner doesn't want to press charges. You can confront him and tell him in a nice way that hes trespassing and the owner might press charges if he does it again.
unfortunate...but you are not the landowner...you didn't buy the land...you don't pay taxes on the land. I encountered the same situation...be polite, tell him to speak with the landowner if they want to continue to hunt there. in the meantime: guys like you and me need to save our money and buy our own. Good luck!
You need to make the game warden aware regardless of whether or not the landowner wants to file charges himself. This guy is putting YOUR hunting career in jeopardy by baiting up your hunting ground. Good luck trying to get a warden to believe they aren't yours should one randomly wander onto you.
Goodluck. We spent the first 20 years chewing *** and booting them. Ha. The last 17 years is a ZERO tolerance, automatic ticket, $277 walk in the woods which includes coon dogs with gps collars. No bloodtrailing without permission and at nite only with us. 37 adjacent properties and countless stands built on our wire. The grass is always greener.
I agree with this! Some of you guys are pretty tolerant. I would confront him and I would not be so nice.
Does the landowner know that they are illegally baiting? This potentially could come back on the landowner too, perhaps if he knew that he would be more willing to press charges or at least too them to stay off the property.
I would alert a game warden to this guy's activity on the property. Even though the landowner doesn't want to press charges, it is not his decision to chose to turn his back on unlawful management practice of a public resource (deer). That has to be dealt with by a game warden, who's job is to protect game animals from illegal activity
I would def make the CO in the area aware that the guy put out illegal bait and have the pics to show him. I'm not sure about your state but in OH you have to have written permission to show, verbal is no longer good enough, so the landowner wouldn't have to do a thing as long as the trespasser can't show the permission slip.
