I just finished reading an article about Albert Pujols being done for the season. Who thinks that he is done as a player? Surprisingly, I don't think that he is and I believe that he still has several good seasons ahead of him, as long as he recovers. I believe that he's been playing hurt for a long time and should've took the time to heal up before he ever got to this point.

Yup and the Cards didn't get stuck with him

His best future is the American league as a DH

He's done! It's an amazing thing what clubs are willing to do with these long contracts. They gave him a boat load of years and money banking on his performance very short term and winning a world series while in his prime (or just after). Now they will eat the rest of the money on his contract for an average declining bat. Absolutely amazing how teams will roll the dice for a 2-3 year window. Window shut on Pujlos... he's toast.

He played several years with the Cardinals hurt. I don't think he is done. His best days of ball are over and that is why he still doesn't wear a red bird on his chest.

He's been on the decline since 2009. He's not done but the .300/30/100 days are over. Heck he's not even the best player on his team.

Agree, DH with a reduced contract, then a pinch runner in the 7th or later.

True. Can't play everyday and certainly can't play 1st anymore.

As a huge cards fan I was disappointed to see him go at first but also realized that it was not a good idea to sign him to a 10 yr deal. He should've taken less years and went down as an all time cards great. He would've had a statue front and center. Now he is laid up and I'd say the 4 or 5 best player on his team.

I think he's done I'm a big Pujols fan and I personally don't think he should have left the cards but it's to late now he should go ahead and stop now personal opinion because his career is dwindling downhill (and if he wants sustain high career stats).

They weren't offering anything even close to what he got with the Angels (according to his wife) it wasn't guaranteed and nuch was deffered.

She also said that what the cardinals were publicly saying wasn't what was offered. They would have stayed for that. According to her.

I don't blame anyone involved. They all did what was best for them.

Pujols is a hard worker and will be back if at all possible. He will walk away if he sees it isn't going to happen. I doubt he will string the Angels along.
