I got a bow for my 11 year od daughter. I got it second hand from a guy at church, look around on craig's list or pawn shops, there are some good deals on youth bows. The deal is she has to be accurate at 20-30 yards. She has been working hard at target practice. The only tough thing is my 5 and 8 year old boys are itching to bring their bow and hunt too. Too young, but I am taking them duck and pheasant hunting again this year. They love it. It is so much fun taking our kids out in the woods. Actually took the boys on a scouting trip to WI. Had a blast. It is really something to see how they react to hunting and the outdoors. Takes you back to when you had that first experience. Pretty cool.

Well we busted our tail this weekend and put up a platform for a pop up blind over our small food plot so that I can hunt the small plot with my kids.

My oldest of 3 boys. He'll be sitting with me again this year during early season whitetail. Next spring will be his first youth turkey hunt. His young brother 5 is itching to get in the blind with me. Not sure I am brave enough just yet to take them both at the same time. :)

I just take my kids out in the woods whenever possible. My 5 year old and I went 4 wheeling and checking trail cameras. He got to shoot his bb gun. The kids love the nature part of it. So many cool things to see in the woods when your a kid! IMG_20130817_103937_810.jpg IMG_20130817_110125_624.jpg

My nephew came to visit this spring with my brother and we did some fishing. I talked his dad into buying him a bow while he was here and he has been shooting since April. A couple days ago the antelope archery season opened in Wyoming where he lives and he had a doe tag. He and his dad put a little spot and stalk on this doe and he shot her at 30 yards. She ran about 40 yards and dropped. He called me and is super pumped about bow hunting deer this fall.[IMG]

I don't have any kids to take, but I do get to take my wife bowhunting. She has killed several deer with a gun, but only one small doe with her bow. It's fun to try and teach her everything that I have learned about bowhunting, (even though it isn't much). Wish I had some kids to take. Maybe in a couple years.
