I think you should look at the Muzzy Trocar if you can find them. I'm impressed with them. I shot Strikers for years and these are better.

I use the Strikers because they have a steel ferule and the blades are replaceable. The blades are extremely sharp from the factory and I don't think I could resharpen a Montec to the same level as the replacement blades for the Striker.

I have been using Montecs practically since they came out and will be staying with them. Strikers are good too but I like the solid Montec. I can shave with them after I work on them. Not long to get them sharp but it takes practice at first. Use the sharpener they sell and use medium pressure not heavy pressure. I go with the course and then fine diamond plates then touch up with leather strops and crock stick.
I am sure any diamond sharpening blocks in course and fine will work. Only draw back to the ones from G5 is that they are small. A longer block would be an improvement.

I know nothing about the Striker, but I haven used the Montec exclusively the last two seasons. I have killed several deer with them (125gr) and couldn't be happier. Good blood trails and short distances on all of them.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it...I am staying with Montecs this year.

My opinion... The Montech flies great but the blades cannot be sharpened to my liking..

Strikers are stupid sharp and fly just as good... And the blades are replaceable

    IMO, go with the Strikers

I use G5 Montecs and love them. I found a good sharpener on Amazon called Smith's BHS Broadhead Sharpener and it put a good edge on my used broadheads.

I use the strikers... as others have said, nasty sharp, easy to replace the blades & fly like my field points. I did fold over the tip on one last winter when it buried in a rock pile... it took a while with a small file and diamond stone to get it back in shape, but it's serviceable now. I suspect the same thing would have happened to any similar head, including the montec.

Really? I have both the CS and regular, haven't had either break yet. Did it break at the screw or the blades?

Yikes, did you hit bone or know what caused it? I wonder if it was a bad batch.
