Hey guys, Thought I would share a heartwarming story I got to witness first hand over the last couple days. I am an Army Reservist out of Iowa and am currently deployed overseas. A girl in my unit was adopted at birth, but shortly after the adoption agency was closed down. She has been suffering some medical issues that doctor can not seem to figure out because they do not have any family medical history. She had tried in the past to find her birth parents, but received little to no help from the state (Wisconsin) and was told it was going to cost a lot of money (a lot more money than a 21 year old junior-enlisted soldier makes while trying to afford college and bills.) We decided to make this sign and post it to Facebook for fun a few days ago. We didn't think anything would happen from it but decided to give it a try. The photo absolutely exploded on social media and reached a bunch of news agencies in the Midwest. Thousands of people were reaching out from all over to help her out. In the most unlikely of scenarios, someone that her birth mother was friends with shared this photo and she saw it on her newsfeed. They are now in contact after 21 years and will likely meet for the first time when we return home. She has made sure that this is the real deal and not a scam, the woman knew everything about the adoption and things that were never posted. Kind of nice to see stories like this to restore faith in mankind. I blacked out her name because she is getting a lot of attention right now and probably wants a little privacy for the time being while everything is sorted out. PS If any BHoD guys are watching this, keep up the good work. We have a lot of guys over here that bowhunt and love watching your show. We won't be home in time to hunt this fall so we will be living vicariously through you!
Very true!! But in the same sense it can do just the opposite. Here's to knowing and celebrating that difference. Cheers! Great story!
