Using a "hang on" this year and It came with 3 ladder pieces. How high do you usually hang your stands?

min I do is 14. depends on the area really sometimes you can go lower but then its easier for deer to wind you and sometimes you just have to me a bit higher like 18 ft

12' to 15'. I am putting one in a willow tree tomorrow morning that is 20', but usually around 15' is normal for us.

No lower than 15'. After that whatever height provides the best combo of cover with available shooting lanes. IMO stand selection/preparation is hugely important, and an area a lot of bowhunters screw up. You gotta have shooting lanes in multiple directions, but equally important, you gotta have cover. Overlook either one and you'll either get picked off, or have a deer walk by without a clear lane to shoot through.

What he said. This varies a lot with the situation, but I don't like to go much higher than 20 feet because it changes your shot angle on deer that are under 10 yards. Those steep shots make getting a double-lung shot harder the farther you go up. Nothing says frustration like getting a single lung hit on a deer that is only 8 yards away and having to track it forever.

I like 20' but might try a little lower this year.

20 is the average for me, I don't like to go much lower than that unless I absolutely have to. Theres also situations where I sit higher on some occasions due to the lay of the land. Having good cover is crucial in any stand location.

16' since that is how high our climbing sticks are.

As low as 4 ft and as high as 22 ft for me.

Every situation is going to require a different stand height.

I only use a climber, I have my pull up rope cut at 23' and keep it tied to my seat. So when my bow lifts I know I'm around 20'. That's the height I like.

Completely dependent on the totality of everything around you. Personally I go only as high as I have to. Every deer that I've shot with bow and watched drop dead within 25-50 yards of my stand have been from heights between 12'-15'. Every deer I've shot from 20'+ I've had to track. Reason being for me was with low stand heights the trajectory of the arrow is flatter thus enabling me to achieve optimal double lung pass throughs. Obviously bowhunting is a dynamic sport where things happen different with every encounter.....this is just my 2 cents.

14'-20' is my comfort zone. Depends on the area I am in and the available cover I have.

I only use a climber, but usually 15 to 20 depending on location. Anything higher than that and I start getting a little shaky in the knees. Most of the time I'm about 19 feet up.

It will be difficult to get more than 15 feet or so with 3 sets if steps. I agree with most of these guys. 15 to 20 is optimal. But it depends on the tree and topography. I have a few at 12' because they tree provides the best set up. I have others at 22 ft.

20-35 feet in my climber. (i practice shooting at these heights for the angle) i cant do hangon stands, I'm afraid of heights, and without the front bar around me i cant even stand up!!!
