I bought a QAD HDX with the chill in feb. I had to change the felt now 2x and need to change already again, just put new felt on a month ago. I only shoot maybe 50-75 arrows a week threw it, I am using the carbon express blue streaks. is there something else I can put on that will last longer then the felt strips. The noise only happens at the first 1-2" when drawing back. but I know if I can hear it deer will hear it a mile away.

Is your arrow rubbing on the rest shelf befor the rest begins to lift it? Where is the felt comming off of? The next time you replace your felt, use some alcohol to clean it and try not to tuch it befor you reaply the new. Last thing you could try is to lift the launcher with the thumb tab and then draw trying to notice if the sounds are still there. Another posibility is that it is not setup correctly. If it is slapping the rest shelf the timing or position may be off. Finally if you cant figure it out take it to a reputable pro shop and explain it to them. Hopefuly there is atleast 1 pc of help in all this. Good luck!

I installed one on a friends Hoyt and same thing with his. That is one draw back with this rest. This is why I like the Ripcord Code Red. All of the noise elimination requirements are built in and don't have to worry about it.

If you are tired of buying the qad felt I found a sheet of 1'x1' self adhesive felt from a local hobby lobby(craft store) for around $2 same material you just need to cut it yourself.. The rest does need to be good and clean... I have had luck with it just a tip for everyone because I also shoot around that much a week and you can use up the felt in a few weeks..

I have had the QAD HDX for a while now and I have never had a rubbing noise or anything. I have never replaced the felt on it either. I have had it for around a year now. Could it be your arrows? How is the felt coming off/wearing off? If it is just coming lose you can take serving or dental floss and tie it around the launcher. I have seen people do that due to the felt coming up and it works really well.

I've had my hdx on now for about 2 years and have shot literally thousands of arrows with no noise whatsoever and the same piece of felt. I bought camo felt from bass pro, cut it to size, and super glued it to the launcher arm. No issues whatsoever. I shoot FMJ's if that matters.

Sounds like to me the felt at the bottom of the v on the rest is wearing through not un common to hear a slight noise when drawing the bow just replace the felt and your good to go... If its tearing off the there is probably fletching contact which needs to be looked at.
