Well, it's about that time of year where I break out my Kindle (do this about twice a year :D). We're heading out for our Cruise on Friday (sail out on Saturday), and I'm looking for reading material for the plane and on the boat. Last year I read a really good historical piece on the Hatfields and McCoys on vacation. I like historical pieces, but also anything that's adventure/outdoor related as well. Suggestions are welcomed!

I don't know if you've familiar with Vince Flynn, but he is a great writer from Minnesota. I'm currently on his third book (Transfer of Power) in his 'Mitch Rapp series'. The first two were GREAT reads. I'm a very casual reader, but could not put them down.

I'm currently reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It's fiction, but it is quite good so far.

I gotta admit Phil Robertson's autobiography was a good read.

Anything written by Louis Lamour, the Sackett series in particular.

If you want a real long term project that will keep you reading look into W.E.B. Griffin books. I have read every book he's written. Do yourself a favor and start with the first book in the first series and go from there. They're books of honor, country, duty, heros with a lot of actual historic content thrown in. They start in WWII and go on from there. REally wonderful spy and super ****h novels. The last few books he's written with a co-auther. They're not up to his old stuff.... but the orginal books will make you come back for more. Link to his books and different series.

That was going to be my suggestion as well. It is a quick, easy read. The other book, Duck Commander Family, is a good read as well.
