Back in my college days at UMD I'd hunt every day I could north Duluth off of Rice Lake Rd. Lots of good opportunity!

As far as transition from Rifle to Bow - you do have a few new things to get (new camo, bow, arrows, release, etc.). But the skills you have now are transferable. Oh and the fun is... you can't shoot them at 75 yards like you used to with a rifle. Get ready to "watch" a lot more deer.

    GOOD LUCK!

Welcome....years ago I used to hunt around Esko....My buddy moved and I haven't been up there hunting for years but always saw animals. Good luck. Two Harbors has a city hunt as well and a bunch of deer come right out of town there.

Bear hunting was always good in the Bemidji area.

I'd love to bear hunt one day. An I actually rabbit hunt up off rice lake road, next time I head to the bow shop I should go for a woods walk up there.
