    I wouldnt eat those, look like they are passed the 50% mark.. probably have a good bit of mold on them.

    I wasn't able to get back out and get them anyways. Will they likely come back in the same area again next year?

    We consistently find morels in the same spots year after year...I'd be checking that general area for sure next year.

    Depends on how long they have been growing there. The claim is that it takes 5 years to go from spore to mushroom. If this is true, it could be a few years before the next ones pop.

    hmmm...mushrooms are a nasty fungus...so I am not sure why mold on them would even be noticed.... lol
