Well here in Ontario Canada our turkey season opened on the 25.
I got out twice and managed to call in mature toms each time just couldnt connect.

    Well here is my confession.

today i dragged out the double bull blind, camera and bow.

called in 2 mature birds one with a all white 6-8" rope. must have rotted off.
    anyways guess what happened.
    I got turkey fever.
at 13 yards i shot over his back.
at 8 yards i blew feathers off his rear end.
at 20 yards i hit him far back and he ran into the bush with my arrow in tow.

blood and poop all over the field but i could not find him. brought out the dog and couldn't keep on him.

    I am so embarrassed.
2 years ago i took a nice tom with the bow and haven't bothered since. I just don't know what got into me. i was shaking like a leaf.

well i hope i learnt a lesson to not rush a shot.
i am going back to the bush to look if i can see my luminok tonight in the bush.

    thanks for listening.
    tight strings

Good luck man. Unfortunately that is part of it. If he's still holding the arrow i hope you see the light and recover the bird.

Well back at it today in the blind with the bow and a buddy.
    birds gobbling all around us.
at 7 am 3 jakes tried molesting my decoys one to many times.
my buddy wanted to fill his tag so we decided to double up on the count.
i was shooting the NAP kill zone and was quite impressed. blew out the vitals and dropped him in his track.
    back home for 8 am.
ill try and post a pic tomorrow at the office

the monkey is off my back and now i can hunt for a nice 2 or 3 year old.
