I have only $230 into my Ridge Hunter setup. Nap Pro 3000 Rest Vital Gear 1100 spike sight Alpine 5-sof loc quiver Shoots bullets! I need a new string, which i will get soon from Hutch, that will run around $60. I'm just amazed at the masses spending upwards of $1000-1400.00.... My inexpensive setup gets the job done by far...
I have $470 into my bow total (so far). New (when bought) 2012 Bear Legion. RTH package that came with a Hostage rest, Limbsaver stab, and not sure of the brand but its a nice aluminum made 4 pin sight. Nice 6 arrow quiver. This package cost me $420. The only thing I don't like about the package is the hostage rest. I found a NAP Apache drop away I bought for $50 and I plan on strapping that on soon.
Bear Lights Out - $450? Package Stabilizer - $65 Viper sight - $40 Ripcord rest - $100 Strings - $100ish G5 peep - $20? Can't remember Thumb release - $80 Basically $1,000 plus arrows, fletchings, broadheads, nocks, etc...
Alot of people make alot of money so they have more disposable income. Or its just their passion.hobby so they spend more on it. Also some people pay more for quality items and some additional features you don't get with the more inexpensive items. Sure the job gets done with either one, but its like a car you can get a mercedes or you can get a honda. Stabilizer: NAP Apache Stabilizer Arrow Rest: NAP Apache Carbon Drop Away Rest – Black Boss Hogg 5 pin Wrapped: Wrist Strap ProtX Gloves Boss Hogg Whipper Snapper 3 Finger = $390 Doesnt count my Arrows or the coloring kits, custom grips. Would easily be $800 if I didn't shop smart and have had the support of the companies.
Bow-$883 G5 Optix xr2 sight-$200 Axion Stabilizer-$60 T-5 spiderwed quiver-$115 Nap Apache rest(for now)-$100-bought new when they first came out, transferred from old bow. Not really part of the bow, but kind need them, 12 Maxima Hunter arrows-$160 Tru-fire Release-$70 Grand Total=$1588 And im sure ill probably spend more eventually. Bad thing is that is just for my bow. If i add up everything else I use for hunting, plus my lease I bought this year, and stands im buying for it, and cams, and mineral. Im gonna be well over $3000 just for this year. But here is the real Kicker, on the bow I have actually only had to spend $83 for the bow, $60 for the stabilizer, I bought the rest and release for my bear last year. But the bow, sight, and quiver was paid for with Christmas money from my parents, and my in-laws, who are very, very generous at Christmas time.
Hoyt Vector = 799 Whisker Bisquit = 40 Spot Hog Right on Sight = 150 Vapor Trail Strings= 60 Stabilizer = 30 Quiver = 35 Insane Archery Camera Mount = 35 About $1150.
Way more than I care to think about. I could do it for lots less, but I figure, I'm only going to live once, so why not get what I want?
I can proudly say that I have about $250 dollars into everything on my rig. I got my bow as payment for doing oddjobs for a friend (cutting wood, garden stuff, cutting up deer/ pigs, misc. work), so pretty much free if you don't count my sweat for anything . Then I tried to go as cheap as possible while still having a decent loadout. $40 Whisker biscut $50 Trophy ridge outlaw sight $5 D loop $25 Cobra release $65 Easton arrows $30 Muzzy broadheads $215 total ... plus tune ups and general maintenance so I'd say $250 is a safe bet. No sense in burning up the wallet. All it takes is practicing and a well placed shot to kill an animal.
Well over $1500. My last bow was an ebay special. I think I gave about $200 bucks for it and it functioned just fine. I had it about 4 years and decided to upgrade. I got the bow I wanted and the accessories I wanted. Sure I could have settled for something less expensive, but I didn't have to. Prime Centroid $950 G5 Opix XR $160 QAD Ultra Rest HDX $130 G5 Mag-Loc Halo $100 Axion Silencer Stabilizer $75 G5 Meta Peep $10 Blue Bowjax $12 Blue Mathews Dampers $30 Carbon Express Maxima Blue Streak Arrows $140 Luminoks $60
THAT is a nice looking setup. Me? I won't add it up, but since there's two hanging in the basement, it's not pretty. Then again, they were both "used" purchases. I don't usually buy a new bow. Too much depreciation.
Heres Mine: Diamond Razor edge- $329 NAP apache stabilizer- $50 G5 Optix Rock sight- $110 G5 head-loc quiver- $50 Hostage Pro rest- $40 Arrows: ~$90 Other Misc.Stuff- $10 Total: ~$679 Im going to purchase a drop-away here pretty soon so it will go up another $60-$110. Not as bad as I thought though.
